1) Tell us a bit about yourself

I was born in Melbourne, but lived in different Australian locations while growing up as the family followed my father's job. I'm a mining engineer and have been in resources and mining for over 30 years (including both Australian and international roles). I have a long mining operational history with experience ranging across the entire life cycle of a resources projects, from exploration through to development and construction, out to operations and closure.
2) Tell us about your position at Mining Plus

I have been with Mining Plus for 6 years, currently based in sunny Perth. My role at MP is to take care of the operations division of Mining Plus throughout Australia. I also manage the seconded employees and service agreements- where Mining Plus provides a technical services teams into site based exploration, development, and operational situations.
3) Tell us about your journey to your current role
I initially started working when I was 10 years old (and haven't stopped!) In the early days I would deliver newspapers and milk door-to-door, worked in various brick paving crews, did some bar work, and worked in a road maintenance group.
My mining and resources career started with tertiary studies in both Adelaide and Ballarat, with my first mining based position being an exploration field assistant. I then progressed through a variety of mine operational, laboring and technical assistant roles, before gaining my engineering degree, becoming an engineer and progressing through technical and management positions in that field.

4) What do you enjoy about your particular position and working at Mining Plus?

I've become addicted to the variety and somewhat unpredictable nature of the role, and the various types of excitement that it can bring. I enjoy the flexible working arrangements that Mining Plus provides and being in communication with people who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and collectively make for a very good working environment.

5) Any hobbies and what do you do in your free time?

Travel, spend time with my family, meditate, boating, cycle and attending to the every need of a large dog!
